Schola is thrilled to once again join forces with Redwood Symphony. We’ll sing the Symphony of Psalms for Redwood Symphony’s Stravinsky Festival, a two-concert presentation of nine works from this transformative composer. It’s a three-movement choral symphony composed in 1930, during his neoclassical period. Its religious character emerges through fugal counterpoint, large choral forces and the use of psalms as texts. Stravinsky described the work as psalms transformed into symphonic music, and infused with profound spiritual intensity.
This concert is hosted by Redwood Symphony, not by Schola Cantorum, and is not included in a Schola Cantorum FlexPASS. Tickets will be sold on the Redwood Symphony website.
